My last blog caused some confusion, so I am now attempting to resolve that. This is my portable keyboard which folds in half and has a niffty little pull out rest for my BlackBerry to repose on. I have sat it on my laptop so that you can see it's full sized. It's so much easier that trying to type off of the tiny 'phone keyboard, especially when I want to write a blog. It was indispensable when I went on my Orient Express trip and I'm sure it will also be indispensable on my trip overland across Europe, Asia, and North America.
The
power monkey is simple and does what it says on the tin. I charge it up from the mains or by solar power whenever I get the opportunity and use it as my power source when I'm in a remote region without mains access. Clever huh! But will it work? I have spoken to many people who assure me it will be fine, but I guess the only way to prove it is to buy one because what works for other people doesn't necessarily work for me, especially when I don't have an "expert" at hand!

Amiable post and this mail helped me alot in my college assignement. Thanks you as your information.
Much better than a mobile phone, but still pretty tiny. I suppose you couldn't take your laptop as well and only use the portable keyboard when the laptop is stolen?
And all this just to keep us posted with your adventure! You're just too good to us.
i am pretty impressed with your ability to handle this technical life, r&c. i tend to break down at the sight of a tangled wire and think maybe that is the world's end. if you do tech posts, i will learn lots.
it was very interesting to read.
I want to quote your post in my blog. It can?
And you et an account on Twitter?
Amazing technology and gadgetry! IF.... you understand how to work it all, which I don't always.......

Please to be able to help someone anonymous.
Now, now DogLover. You are simply green with envy really aren't you?

If my IT friends could hear you now grit they would laugh, in fact they would be hysterical.
I have had a twitter account since the beginning anonymous, but I still don't get the point of it! That's my blind spot.
Maggie, I say it again, without help I'm hopeless. I am just counting on there being an IT geek on the trip with me otherwise I'm done for!
I think you may have lost me at "power monkey" RAC. But I was very attentive to your trip on the "Orient Express". I must look back through your posts - I've obviously missed some and am really interested to know how you got on. Your planned trip to Europe and North America sounds exciting too. A x
My 78 year old "girl" friend and I went from Istanbul to Venice on the Orient Express in September 2007 Anne. I wrote about it along the way - what a journey - what an experience.

Margot, I'm sorry I am having to monitor comments because of some inappropriate messages being left. Unfortunately I accintally deleted your's this morning by mistake. Please forgive me.
It is amazing how well we older gals are adapting to technology. While my arthritic thumbs groan at the thought of texting on other than a regular keyboard setup, I am pretty darn good on my older LG. I will wait till Verizon gets the IPhone but it doesn't have the keyboard I like. Why can't they make just one phone will everything the way I want it???
By all means, use that YouTube video, The Mom ( or maybe it's The Mum ) Song on your blog. You can get the imbed code on YouTube. I thought it was so hysterical when my Indian friend ( male ) osted it on Facebook yesterday. I've played it several times since and I have been laughing all day.
Actually Carmen, I'm quite proud of myself this morning. I charged up my PowerMonkey and then went to charge my BlackBerry from it. Unfortunately the PowerMonkey doesn't come shipped with the correct plug.
Instead of going ape-shit I calmly read the instructions and as directed went on-line, identified the one I needed and ordered it. Normally I would panic and yell at someone to sort the bloody thing out for me.
When my oldest son is home ( the one with the electrical engineering degree ), he will help if I absolutely can't figure things out. I remember when I wanted to add more memory to my first computer and he did it with ease. I was a little concerned when he had all these little parts on a tray and started fretting. He just looked at me calmly and said, "Mom, if the Air Force lets me work on the computer system for the world's largest airplane, I don't think this HP is much of a challenge." I shut up then.
I acknowledge there are a lot of adult females out there just like me. Each of us suffered the pain and grief of knowing the fact that we will not have babies for the rest of our lives.
I just need to share my private experience about the strength of Pregnancy Miracle. This book is truly honest and will supply you with facts and evidences rather then opinions.
It is a book worth learning. In Person, I see it as a “saving light”.
