Now you see it, now you don't!
This building sat next to our house. The "black bungalow", as it was always known, was quite "up together" in it's day, having originally been constructed as WWI Officers Quarters. After the war it was transported to this site where it happily housed two families for 60 + years. Davy and I bought it several years ago with the intention of pulling it down and re-building. The best laid plans huh?!
Last year I did finally obtained planning permission to build a 4 bedroom house on the plot, but, quite frankly, I can't be bothered with the hassle of doing that so I decided to sell it. Over the years it had slowly become derelict and a target for vandals, hence the decision to have it demolished. Another tick on my "done" list.
The funny thing is that it had become a bit of a local landmark and a friend visiting me at the weekend nearly drove on because this was the subliminal trigger for braking and turning! Mad how be become programmed isn't it?
Actually, I have let things slide a bit of late and now I'm on a bit of a mission to get to grips with life again. This morning I attempted, yet again, to clear out the garage and was quite pleased with progress because I finally made a dent in it! But tell me, where does all the rubbish come from? I have so much that it prompted me to get a bunch of stuff together for a car boot sale.
But where do I start? Maybe with the 2 "surplus to requirements" hair driers, 2 pairs of curling tongues and 4 pairs of hair straighteners that I seem to have acquired over the years. Puzzling that, considering I don't, and never, ever, ever have, used curling tongues or straighteners! What's that all about? And I can't even blame anyone else because I actually remember buying each damn pair myself!
Add to that the 20+ vases and multitudes of pillow cases, table clothes etc, etc, and you see I have developed quite a problem over the years.
But, hell, it's lunch time now and I may have another bash at getting my life sorted out after I've had my power nap. But I still have 9 unopened DVD's to view, so I may leave it for another day.

A car boot sale'd be no good for all my stuff. More like a container lorry needed! I'm going to stick to ebay or charity shops, I think. Oh, and a skip!
I am often tripped up by changes in the landmarks I used to use to find places. It seems like, overnight, the corner store is gone and a parking lot appears.
I can handle change. Just don't like it much..
Good picture by the way.......kt
Is that what one's supposed to do: clear all the clutter out?
I'll have to lie down and think about that.
I see you have "The Road" to watch. That is my favorite I think of the ones I see in your photo.
Yes, we all collect. But since we moved so often we would let go of more and more till we have dwindled down to this little hippie house and one small garage and only one box in the garage now of things for the community garage sale next year.
Aren't power naps wonderful? When I retired from the work force I didn't think I would be a napper. Ha.
I love your header. It is great!
I also have masses of things surplus to requirements. The loft is full of stuff like those electrical things. One day I will get it done........ one day.
I don't like changes in the landmarks either.

Nuts in May
Great stuff! I enjoy reading your blog. Thanks for making me smile.
Those clear outs are so good for the soul though aren't they?! I love getting the bin bags out and having a jolly good tidy up. Amazing what one can find when one isn't looking, lol.

Hold the films! Hasven't seen most of those
Oh, hahahaha! I'm the world's worst at sorting out and actually throwing away clutter! Good luck with that.
Funny how we keep buying the same things thinking we'll use them, but never do, isn't it?
Ahhh the black bungalow, I can still remember it well. Although as I recall my efforts at first finding your address and using "the Bell" as a landmark in Gosberton, there are apossibly one too many "Bells" in town to use as a landmark! :-) As for the the Garage sale, we gave up those years ago, now it's just off to the local Goodwill donation center for us and a tax deduction slip for the giving seems to makee life a bit simpler.
Bill
I already did the container lorry Addy! This is what's left.
Thanks kt. The picture was taken by my daughter. It's about the only good photograph I've ever had taken, apart from the ones DogLover took when I was younger that is. He's a really good photographer.
If you cleared the clutter out of your house DogLover the house would fall down!
I still haven't watched The Road TB. But it's now top of the list.
The car boot sale wasn't very successful Maggie, but at least I had to put my ass into gear and have a clear out. Now I can hit the charity shops.
I do like making people smile Sandy. It makes my day.
Yes, CJ, once I got started I had a great time re-discovering things I forgot I had.
Come on round and watch them with me ladyw
It's Einsteins, definition of madness isn't it Jay? We keep doing the same things over and over expecting a different outcome.
The black bungalow wasn't as you remember it Bill. I mean we're going back maybe 25 years here?! As you can see from the photograph it became quite derelict.
